Has GameStop accepted tablet gaming or are they just looking to get in on the iPad craze?

According to Apple news website 9to5mac top video game retailer GameStop is about to add Apple iPad tablets to their product line-up, as well as other iOS devices from Apple. GameStop will be selling new and used iPads as well as taking trades, the report states.

The iPad and other iOS products from Apple have already joined products like the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft XBOX 360 as devices Gamestop is willing to take trade on for in-store credit.

GameStop hasn't commented on the report that they're about to sell iPad's and other Apple products, so consider that just a rumor for now. However for tablet in general back in the very recent past the CEO of GameStop did state in an interview that tablets were something him and his company were interested in.

GameStop CEO Tony Bartel's exact words were, "If we can work with our partners and the OEMs and they come up with a great tablet that is enabled with a great gaming experience and coupled with a Bluetooth controller, then there's no need to go out and develop our own,"…"But if we can't find one that's great for gaming, then we will create our own".

The Apple iPad is a popular tablet that has a lot of great 3D games available for it, could Apple be that OEM that GameStop will link-up with? We'll have to wait and see, I have my own reservations on Apple's willingness to work closely with GameStop to make their iPad any more gamer ready (with a custom Bluetooth controller).
